Photo Challenge: Security

Hello friends!

I have been meaning to participate in a photo challenge and today seemed to be a great fit.

When I thougt about the what security means to me, I had a few people, places and things that come to mind. I don’t know what I would do without my ahem… highly complex relationship with Caterpillar. While we have some serious ups and downs at times, the comfort and feeling of security when with him is unmatched.

My few close friends mean the world to me, we shall call them S, P & J. They have been through hell with me, provided margaritas or Jameson as needed over the years and of course a perfect ear during those rough times and when I blurt out ridiculous puns ❤️.

At almost 29, I am proud to say that to this day, there is nothing quite wrapping up in a blanket on those shitty days and to me, is one of the truer forms of security.

However, there are 3 furry pups that take the trophy on security. Quite literally, they secure my home. They protect our little home from strangers passing by, evil mailmen, bad boyfriend prospects and squirrels! Although, I love the squirrels…so we are working on that.

After a long day or when life is beating me down, my one pup Barley always curls up with me. This is a picture of us from a week or so ago, he definetly brought my spirits up and this picture to me, just screams… security.

I hope you enjoyed my first photo challenge! What comes to your mind when you hear the word: security?

Haha, that photo is very sweet indeed. 🙂
I think you’re right to have that solid little group of quality, close friends… they’re definitely our supports and a definition of security for me, too.
Apart from that, I think of “security” as a cosy evening sitting in my comfy armchair, with overarm table, and laptop computer. 🙂

Thank you! I have to say, the sounds of a laptop and cozy arm chair does sound great! I am lacking in the chair department, I have been on the hunt for a new one for my house. It most definitely will have to be cozy 🙂

Haha, sometimes when I’m out socialising, part of me can’t wait to get home for a nice sit down. It probably makes me sound elderly, but I don’t care. 😉
I hope you find the right chair for you — it certainly makes all the difference. 🙂

Awwww look at that pupper!! Security to me is probably Scrubs’ arm around me and a good book. When I was a child I used to see books as escape routes into other bodies and other lives. I still see them that way sometimes. A temporary body swap away from stress.

Lol! My pup Barley is a real Casanova. He loves to love, also thinks he is a lap dog….At 50-60lbs 😳😂.

I love how you described reading as a temporary body swap, that is the best description that I’ve ever heard and love it so much! There is nothing quite like a good book and the ones we love ❤️❤️

This is a very sweet photo and perfect for the theme. When I think about security, I think of me, Rui and Rosa, safe at home and my mom, stepdad and sister safe at their home, together and peaceful.
